The JEBAO 55W Ultraviolet Sterilizer is used to destroy single celled organisms such as water borne bacteria and viruses. The sterilizer is also used to control algae and to kill fungi and protozoa. Aqua Ultraviolet Sterilizers are recommended for both fresh and salt water systems as well as ponds. The ultraviolet lamp emits a germicidal ray which alters or disrupts the DNA or RNA of targeted organisms such as algae, bacteria and protozoa. The Aqua ultraviolet sterilizer works better on filtered water. Any debris in the water can inhibit UV transmission.

Poor Quality but fixed	August 27, 2014

I bought and installed CW-55W last week and today found the UV lamp was already burnt out. The rubber seal for the sleeve is not good enough to prevent the water penetration.
I'd like to add the following as a follow-up.
I returned the product and it was sent to me back with a new UV lamp installed. I added some water-proof material to the rubber seal and it works fine now. I don't know how long it will last this time. I think detailed user's manual for installation and trouble shooting should be provided by the manufacturer.
